Calderdale Wills

The Society has extracted index information for Wills made under the York Prerogative & Exchequer Courts 1389 – 1688 for more than 4,000 individuals in the Calderdale area. The wills themselves are held by the Borthwick Institute at the University of York to whom any application for a copy of the Will needs to be made directly. These records are essentially a finding aid to see if a particular Will is listed and to identify the reference details needed to assist the Borthwick Institute to easily identify the relevant information in their archives. This dataset is not contained in any of our Publications and is only available to members of the Society.
